Rob Williams Festival

19th June 2010 - a date for your diary!

On Saturday 19th June 2010 the first annual sports and music event in aid of the Princes Trust and Rob Williams Enterprise Fund will take place at Beaumont School.

The Rob Williams Enterprise Fund was set up after Rob's life was tragically cut short in 2009. The money raised for the fund is used to help young entrepreneurs starting out in the music and technology industries.

The event will consist of a range of fun activities for both children and adults, including a sponsored team sports event, skateboard & graffiti exhibitions,stalls, games and band performances. Sponsored teams will compete in a variety of sports whilst raising money for the fund.

The teams will play a range of sports including:

  • Dodgeball
  • Touch Rugby
  • Netball
  • Crazy relay

THE RILEYS

London quartet The Rileys are a band going places. They can boast nationwide airplay, a top ten Amazon rock download and sold out headline shows at Shepherds Bush Empire, Islington Academy, Bush Hall and The Barfly. With word of mouth and media attention continuing to build and build, 2010 looks set to be the year in which The Rileys break through to the mainstream.

KAANA ELLIE AND THE REMEDIES

Few singers can boast a voice or a stage presence better than Kaana Ellie, one of Londons premier soul singers. Kaana is backed up by a seriously talented group of muscians known as The Remedies and fresh from their headline gig at the Jazz Cafe last year this act is unmissable for any lovers of UK Soul and Funk.

THE HONEY ANTS

The Honey Ants, are a London based band. They play infectious 1960s style pop that has a modern feel. Think melodies and harmonies as you might hear sung by The Mamas and The Papas, The Turtles, The Hollies and The Zombies. A band definitely on the rise, their music has recently been featured in the BBC programme 'Off The Hook' and Robs Festival will be their first festival appearance.

EMILY CAPELL

Emily Capell is an upcoming singer song writer from North West London. Her songs tell stories of celebrity lust, musical influences and general adolescence. Sounding like the adopted daughter of Jamie T and Billy Bragg and a distant relative of The Clash and The Libertines. Emily has been performing on the London circuit for over a year now and her gigs are always electrifying!

THE FILTHY DUKES (DJ SET)

They released their debut album last year 'Nonsense in the Dark' to an avalanche of acclaim.

Their single 'Tupac Robot Club Rock' featuring Wiley and Plastic Little was on the Radio 1 A List.

They run a massive monthly night at Fabric under the guise 'Kill Em All'.
