Catch up with Ash Soan

Yamaha Download spend 15 minutes with Ash Soan to hear what has been going on in his world!

It's summer festival season for me again with Will Young. The last three shows in the run were fantastic, Rochester Castle, Leicester Tigers Rugby Club and then 5000 people at Kenwood House. The weather has been really good this year and that makes the gigs very pleasant indeed, for band and punters alike.

In between the last three shows I dropped into Sarm Studios to see how an album I'm making with Trevor Horn, Steve Lipson and Lol Creme is getting on. Hopefully it'll be available soon. The music is, dare I say it, slightly progressive and it sounds very much like a Trevor Horn production.

The next day saw me jumping on the Eurostar to do a show in Belgium with Adam Phillips (Hamish Stuart, Richard Ashcroft, Cher, Rod Stewart) he's a fab guitar player and great singer too. The show was in the town square in Yepre. We were joined on guitar by Paul Stacey (Oasis, Black Crowes) who's drummer brother Jeremy and I are doing a clinic at the London Music Show this year. Keep an eye out for that...

Next up for me are another three shows for Will in Jersey, Newton Abbot and Billericay. Then I get my brushes out for a jazz gig with him down the 606 in Chelsea on Monday the 26th. There are about 7 more Summer shows left and they've all been a blast so far. I'll keep you updated on recording and live news soon.

Groove on, Ash
