Gigs And Tunes – JULY

The festival season is now well under way! The 40th Glastonbury festival happened at the end of June where many big names performed to the huge crowds. A plethora of Yamaha gear was used throughout the weekend from the main stage to the smaller introducing tents. Many hugely talented artists flew the Yamaha flag on stage, below is just a small list of which Yamaha artists were IN YOUR FACE at Glasto, along with those who are available to download and on the airwaves IN YOUR EARS this month!

Literally fresh from touring THE WHOLE WORLD, La Roux made an impressive home coming. Playing their hybrid DTX kit (we are at about 3 electronic kits conjoined and counting); they wowed the crowds with their 80’s inspired electro pop.

Rodrigo and Gabriela, the Mexican musical duo, specialize in playing fast, rhythmic acoustic guitars, and boy did they do that at Glastonbury. GORILLAZ
Replacing U2 as the headline act at Glastonbury this year, this gig was Gorillaz only UK festival appearance. As always it was a massive audio-visual spectacle which ignited the Pyramid stage - this was a show not to be missed. MOTIFXS8's and RACKS were the Yamaha gear used.

As well as the above big names, two young unsigned bands Yamaha are supporting also performed on the 'BBC Introducing Stage', Patch William and Band for a Grand winners, The Theory Of 6 Degrees (T6D).
